Night Time At The Eiffel Tower

To take night time shots I used the Night Time Mode.
It leaves the shutter open for longer to let more light in.

This is my mum's favourite photo.
I didn't realise that the shutter stayed open so long and moved the camera while the shot was being taken.
I think the effect is pretty cool.

This was also taken by moving the camera in the middle of the shot.

Close Ups

In order to take close ups I used the Macro mode on the Fuji Camera.
This has a symbol of a flower on it.
Then I used the zoom on the lens to get as close as possible.

I need to do some more work on close ups

This one was blurred because I didn't focus it first.

Water Shots

I decided to put the camera on sport mode as water moves fast.
Overall I think this was relatively successful.

Panoramic Shots

When I was in Paris I took a lot of photos with the fuji camera.
I learnt how to use the panorama mode. It is quite simple to use. I took one shot, then I moved the camera across so that a cross lined up with the silhouette of another cross. And then again a third time.

This was the first one I took at Chateau Versailles

I took some more till I got the hang of it.

This one has got the Chateau Versailles in view with part of the garden.

Here you can see right down to the great lake.
Here you can see the palace with two fountains in front.

This egg shaped structure is actually a circle.

This is a shot of an out door ball room.

This is a view  of the front of the palace inside the courtyard with its nearly complete golden layer.

A view from the first floor of the Eiffel  Tower.

The benefit of using a panorama view is that you can get more in the shot. Its better for a landscape picture and not a portrait picture.

Monday 27 August 2012

I have taken some pictures on the iPad and I have edited a few with basic editing.
I have been taking photos with the Apple IPad and also with my mum's Fuji Finepix 14MP bridge camera.
Most of them were taken on holiday in Paris.

Saturday 11 August 2012

I am going to use a fuji finepix 4500 bridge camera to build up my skills in taking photos.
I have decided that I want to do photography as my skills part of the D of E bronze.

I will keep a record of my photos on this blog.
